Early Childhood Center Principal's Message

Mrs. DowlerDear ECC Families,

Welcome back to the 2022-2023 school year! I am proud to serve as your ECC principal and look forward to our continued partnership in providing our littlest Knights with the best preschool and kindergarten experience. We offer two age-appropriate classes for our preschool students. The 3-year-old class attends on Mondays and Wednesdays and our 4-year-old class attends on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Our preschool students attend from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on their scheduled day. Our kindergarten students attend full-day, every day from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The calendars are able to be viewed here: 22-23 Preschool Calendar & 22-23 Kindergarten Calendar.

The Crestview ECC is a special place for our young students to grow in a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment. Our theme this year is: Growing the Leaders of Tomorrow! Our staff empowers students to learn and gain confidence in themselves by providing developmentally appropriate practices that serve as the foundation for ongoing learning. Students are encouraged to take risks, become problem-solvers, be creative, communicate with others, experience hands-on learning, play, and collaborate. These experiences help shape and mold their minds so our students have the necessary tools to help them be successful and help foster their mindset to become lifelong learners. Building relationships with our students and families is integral to our school culture. When students feel safe and nurtured, they are better able to learn and develop academically, socially, and emotionally. The ECC staff truly believes each student can be a leader!

I look forward to getting to know all of our new Knights and their families this school year. If your family is new to the Crestview ECC, I extend a warm welcome from our ECC family and look forward to meeting you. My goal is to connect and foster meaningful relationships with our students, families, and community. I will encourage these partnerships to grow and flourish as we will offer many opportunities for our families to become invested in their child’s education. I would also like to invite you to take an active part in your child’s education. Families can take an active role in their child’s education by checking their child’s folder/bookbag on a daily basis, participating in school activities, joining the Crestview Parents’ Club (CPC), or even volunteering in their child’s classroom. Research shows parental involvement significantly affects children’s academic and social-emotional skills. I believe that preparing our students for future success is a TEAM effort! My door is always open and I welcome you to stop in at any time. I look forward to a great school year!
