Superintendent's Message

A Greeting from the Superintendent

Mrs. Mollenkopf
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! It continues to be my pleasure to serve as the Superintendent of Crestview Local Schools and to lead the administration, teachers and staff on pathways that enrich and enhance the educational opportunities for our district’s students as 21 st century learners. The administration and professional staff continue to strive to lead through the avenues of integrity-driven decision making, investing in our students and modeling strong work ethics, promoting informed citizenship and innovative thinking, and guiding appropriate interpersonal communication skills. All of
these attributes define the district’s educational focus, Portrait of a Graduate.
The district website continues to be the primary link for parents and members of the community to access to information through a user-friendly format with direct access to resources related to the district’s academic and athletic event calendars, student registration information, student handbooks and administrative guidelines as well as general district updates that showcase our students’ activities, their talents and abilities, and their accomplishments. The website also includes a link to the district’s Strategic Plan, a document designed as guidance for administrative decision-making for the district over the next five to seven years.
The District Quality Profile will be mailed to district residents by early September. Please take opportunity to look through this publication as it serves a companion document to the district’s Local Report Card published by the Ohio Department of Education. Both the DQP and the LRC are accessible by links on the district website. Several new employees have joined our Knight family this year: Courtney Cearns, preschool intervention specialist; Rachel Garay, preschool teacher; Allison Morrow, third grade teacher; Alison Springer, third grade teacher; Ashley Eby, MS/HS visual arts teacher; Cole Harting, HS science teacher; Dylan Hicks, HS intervention specialist; Kate Kroeger, HS language arts teacher; Olivia McGranahan, HS Spanish teacher; and Sarah Wells, MS/HS vocal music teacher. Additional support staff includes paraprofessionals Sara Miller, Areli Gallardo, Krista Huston, Randi Lyons, and Lindsay Maas. Kimberly Carr will serve as the new part-time school nurse for grades 1 -12. New food service personnel include Madison Danylchuk and Krystal McCollum, and new bus drivers transporting students will be Leah Lichtensteiger and Carey Minnich. Administratively, Lindsay Breese is now the elementary principal and Mimi Myers will serve as Director of Curriculum/Instruction.
I am proud of Crestview Local Schools, and the 960 plus students we serve. Every student deserves a safe environment for learning as well as an education that affords options for choice upon graduation. As a school district and a community, we owe our best to the students of this district. On behalf of the Board of Education, the administrators, teachers, and staff, I invite you to engage in opportunities to support the educational and extra-curricular endeavors of our students. If at any time you have questions or comments, I am happy to talk with you.
